The Challenge

Several years ago, the National Education Inspectorate experienced a glitch in its operations - there was a breach on the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information’s website and many school inspection reports were compromised. This was a severe setback for the NEI.

The Solution

Within the short time available, HCA designed, developed, and implemented a secure website and content management system (CMS) that allowed the NEI to fulfil its role in helping to transform the education system by promoting excellence, and inculcating a culture of accountability through quality inspections.

Working in close collaboration with the team at the MOEYI and the NEI, HCA

  1. decided on a domain name, registered the domain name, and integrated the domain with Google Apps;
  2. conducted a requirements analysis exercise to capture and specify functional and non-functional requirements for the web site;
  3. built the website CMS as per the design approved by the NEI, tested the components, and integrated all modules required by the NEI;
  4. trained the NEI staff to manage the website on a daily basis;
  5. prepared technical guides;
  6. implemented, optimized, and fine-tuned website and underlying CMS;
  7. uploaded website to live server and provided 90-day steady-state support; and
  8. handed over the final source code and all supporting documentation to the NEI.
